Barcelona magician Lionel Messi mesmerized Arsenal so much over the two legs of their Champions League quarter-final that the English team was left chasing shadows, manager Arsene Wenger reflected.

The world player of the year single-handedly led the European champions into a semifinal with Inter Milan, with the Argentine scoring all of Barca's goals in a 4-1 victory at the Nou Camp on Tuesday.

"Messi can make a difference at any moment in a game. He can take advantage of any mistakes you make," Wenger told a news conference.

Messi later pulled wide and fired the second goal over the diving Arsenal goalkeeper in the 37th minute and completed his hat-trick with a scooped lob over the advancing Manuel Almunia, after bursting away on a counter-attack just before the break.

The fourth goal, at the end of the game, saw Messi beat Almunia after twisting and turning past defenders inside the area.

"He is a brilliant player. He was fantastic," Almunia told Sky Sports. "As a goalkeeper you try and anticipate what he is going to do, but he can do anything, so it is very hard to stop him because he has such fantastic skill.

"He was great tonight, I think he is the best player I have ever played against and is the best in the world."

MOSCOW / Wesley Sneijder propelled Inter Milan to its first Champions League semifinal since 2003 when his early goal provided a victory over CSKA Moscow in the second leg of their quarter-final clash.

The playmaker, who will have a key role for the Netherlands at the World Cup in South Africa, fired the visitors ahead less than six minutes into the game when his low 20-metre free kick skidded under CSKA's defensive wall and evaded goalkeeper Igor Akinfeyev.

With Inter holding a 1-0 lead from the first leg, Sneijder's goal all but killed the home team's chances as the Italian champions held firm for a comfortable 2-0 win on aggregate.

CSKA's Nigerian defender Chidi Odiah was sent off in the 49th minute after he picked up his second yellow card after a foul on Samuel Eto'o.

Tuesday's match was played amid high security after 40 people were killed in last week's two bomb blasts in the Moscow metro.

How can we save the tiger
What WWF-India is doing to save the tiger?
At the turn of the 20th century, according to sources, India had an estimated 40,000 tigers in the wild. In 2002, based on pug mark census, this number was 3,642. As per the monitoring exercise by Wildlife Institute of India in association with National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), Government of India using camera traps, in 2008 we were left with only 1,411 tigers. This number is so small that they will be gone soon if we don’t wake up to the crisis.

WWF-India aims for a strategic and focused approach in its tiger conservation efforts. Our goal is to restore, maintain and protect tigers as well as their habitat and prey base in important tiger landscapes in India.

The objectives are to:
• Protect, restore corridors to ensure connectivity between tiger habitats while ensuring that human-tiger conflicts are reduced.
• Reduce pressures on the tiger habitats by promoting alternative livelihoods for local communities in and around tiger habitats.
• Create incentives for local communities as well as state and regional government and opinion-makers to support tiger conservation.
• Enhance capacities of the Forest Department to control poaching of tigers and prey species.
• Provide policy inputs at state and central levels to ensure effective measures for conservation of tigers and their habitats.
• Promote the political will as well as popular support within all sectors of society for tiger conservation.

What you can do to save the tiger?
The tiger is not just a charismatic species. It’s not just a wild animal living in some forest either. The tiger is a unique animal which plays a pivotal role in the health and diversity of an ecosystem. It is a top predator and is at the apex of the food chain and keeps the population of wild ungulates in check, thereby maintaining the balance between prey herbivores and the vegetation upon which they feed. Therefore the presence of tigers in the forest is an indicator of the well being of the ecosystem. The extinction of this top predator is an indication that its ecosystem is not sufficiently protected, and neither would it exist for long thereafter.

If the tigers go extinct, the entire system would collapse. For e.g. when the Dodos went extinct in Mauritius, one species of Acacia tree stopped regenerating completely. So when a species goes extinct, it leaves behind a scar, which affects the entire ecosystem. Another reason why we need to save the tiger is that our forests are water catchment areas.

When we protect one tiger, we protect about a 100 sq. km of area and thus save other species living in its habitat. Therefore, it’s not just about saving a beautiful animal. It is about making sure that we live a little longer as the forests are known to provide ecological services like clean air, water, pollination, temperature regulation etc. This way, our planet can still be home to our children.

Spread the word: Go out loud and tell others that tigers are dying and that they need our help. You can form forums (or join existing ones) on the web for discussions and exchange views on tiger conservation. Reach school going children. WWF can help you in this regard.

Be a responsible tourist: The wilderness is to be experienced and not to be disturbed and polluted. Follow the forest department guidelines when visiting any wilderness area, tiger reserve in particular. As the saying goes ‘Don’t leave thing anything behind except foot steps, and don’t take anything except memories.’

Write to the policy makers: If you are really concerned and feel that more needs to be done for tiger conservation, then write polite letters to the decision makers - the Prime Minister, the Minister for Environment and Forests or even your local MP.

Informing the nearest police station: If you know of any information on poaching or trade of illegal wildlife. You can also contact TRAFFIC- an organisation fighting the powerful poachers and pass on the information to them.

Reducing pressure on natural resources: By reducing the use of products derived from forests, such as timber and paper.



Without adequate and timely protection there is a real possibility of these children never seeing a tiger in the wild once they grow up

Manchester United’s game plan of containment, control and speed on the counter left Arsenal outgunned at the Emirates.

It was time again for Sir Alex Ferguson to get re-acquainted with the back of his hand. The wily Scotsman has enough big match experience – and success – against contemporary Arsenal to comfortably make it his chosen specialist subject on Mastermind as his side went about dismantling Arsenal’s title bid and reaffirming theirs title aspiration, Manchester United met thrust with counter-thrust and vice versa but where much more ruthless from the latter.
There was little to separate the teams with half an hour on the clock as both teams found it troubling to break down each other’s defense from open play. United opting to play without Ryan Giggs missed a bit of invention in the final third and as a result Arsenal sucked up their attacks and looked to punish them on the break – Andrey Arshavin going closest with a drive wide of Edwin Van der Sar. But Arsenal has been slow starters this season, having scored only once before fifteen minutes in the league and once they started getting into their groove, Manchester United sensed their moment pounce. Luis Nani’s wonderful trick and run forced the ever-growing culpable Manuel Almunia to claw into his own net (although in fairness the cross looked to be headed for Park at the back post).
However, it was two devastating moments on the break that settled the tie. William Gallas was crowded out in the United box following a corner and as the ball fell to Wayne Rooney, the England striker, starting the counter-attack ended it with a finish of real conviction after running close to the full length of the pitch. Rooney then showed Arsenal the movement they tried to create with Arshavin as the false nine, as the forward took three defenders out by dropping short and the rest was rudimentary for Park. There were only two options for Gael Clichy - gamble and close down the attacker but risk the early pass or delay and hope the angle narrowed. As it turned out, Clichy left it two late for the latter and Park poked the ball past Almunia (could the ‘keeper have been more committed?). Counter-attacking is not merely a policy for Manchester United but a deadly and utterly ruthless weapon in their armoury.
“Transitions have become crucial,” says Jose Mourinho, who always seeks to keep his side organized with five at the back in guard of such moments. “When the opponent is organized defensively, it is very difficult to score. The moment the opponent loses the ball can be the time to exploit the opportunity of someone being out of position.” That was the situation that was also posed to Arsenal; the Gunners’ expansive style meaning more resources are committed forward and therefore less organization at the back. And those gaps are even bigger this season due to the play being stretched on account of the switch to 4-3-3 and cover for the full-backs minimal. Sir Alex would have targeted the right-hand before hand with or without Valencia and deployed a ‘defensive’ winger on the other side. The slight surprise was in deploying Carrick as the deep-lying playmaker as the manager decided to sacrifice a bit of energy for extra tactical nous lower down, while Scholes’ creativity was to be translated higher up the pitch.
Arsenal in contrast were unlikely to play any differently. Arsene Wenger went into the game wanting to control proceedings but found in front of him a sea of black shirts that were very committed in not opening the floodgates and letting Arsenal have the initiative. Dynamism on one hand has waned since their electric start to the season and the late flurry could not hide the defects. The best Wenger can hope his side can regroup and find that extra spark again.
United are breathing down Chelsea's necks again after a maiden league win at the Emirates Stadium left Arsenal's title credentials in tatters.
As of now for Manchester United they will be hoping that Chelsea drop some points, which Arsenal can help to do that as they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge…

A LONG WAY GONE

Its has been a long time that I haven't been blogging… the major reason behind would be lack of time I was unable to give time to write my thought and write down and share across.
Over this period there has been lot changed…moved to a new home and a new work place and all the things which have fallen for me…there has been good and some really difficult time which has been experienced by me.

In the same time there has been long time (3 months) not been able to speak to old work mates.

Hope fully things would be good in the days... to come

A Bond – Anlage HRO Service

Its been long time that I haven't been writing any stuff on the blog, major reason been lot of pending work and unsettled mind. At last the toll has been taken and I have left my organisation after a period of 2.6 years with them. It was a wonderful journey through this 2+ years as had lot of thing to learn and the people I was working with it was really great. Starting from Nitya Madam who gave me this opportunity and then Rahul S, Prashant B and Pravin K who was my First Manager. Had a great learning curve over in Anlage. Learnt a lot from likes of Sanish, Prasad and other team members. Had a time when with Prasad N (My 2nd Manager) had a really great time working as had lot of fun and worked that much harder as well. Also like to mention that it was great help from our Administrator as Manoj, with whom I had a really good relationship.
I always had good rapport with all the teams Iriduim, Solitire, Kohinoor and Aspiration. So apart from this my team the Diamond's in which Sanish, Prasad, Preeti, Saira, Ruchi, Richa and Myself. With this guys it was really a special bond which happened and really it would be difficult for me to forget this guys.
Also like to take this opportunity to thanks Umesh (Founder); Sangita (VP) to give this opportunity and a special thanks to Nitya; from her learnt a lot of HR skills and recruitment Skills.
All the very Best to Anlage and there staff.
It was a totally Professional decision to learn more and fulfill the dreams. It was a great platform provided by Anlage from which i wish them all my good wishes.

United dig deep to come behind to win…

What a week for Man United… a great win against there fierce rival (Arsenal) and against a big four in the title race it was really great to see. To start with the first was allover the place as united where not in command and Arsenal with there free flowing football. And after an early spell of Arsenal possession, it was Rooney who chipping cleverly over the Gunners’ defence to find on to Fletcher inside the area, which he blasted over the top.

The game was a pretty open with both sides trying to hit on the counter. Then at 40^th min Arshavin found space 25 yards from goal, looked up and lashed a blistering right-footed shot goalwards, Foster did got both the hands but the power in the shot took the ball into the goal.

Then in the second more resurgent and more dynamic united came on the park closing the arsenal player every quickly and then a great pass from the veteran Giggs saw Rooney running for the ball inside the penalty area where he was brought down by the arsenal goal keeper Almunia; and The Reds’ no.10 – who took the penalty, coolly slotted the ball in the other corner of Almunia goal.

Later again a free kick from Giggs saw the arsenal player at the wrong place to slot a own goal for dismal to himself and the arsenal player Abou Diaby inexplicably headed past Almunia and into his own net for an own goal to give united a 2-1 lead with 25 mins to go for end of the match.

It was a grt game with brilliant performance from Giggs; Rooney and the Darren Fletcher… the whole game he was a influence on the team closing the arsenal player and running to support the lone striker and getting back to defend as well. A really get win.

The drama did close as Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger as giving the marching order when a Gallas Header falled to Robin van Persie which he blasted into the united net for the goal to be disallowed as Gallas was Offside.

Over to other games Chelsea register a easy win against Burney. Hotspur had a grt Victory for them to keep at the top with a injury time winner for Lennon. Liverpool did have to come from behind to beat a committed Bolton to win 3-2. City too register win with Adebayor again scoring…Over all again a good week for United to keep the pressure on the Top of the table teams

3rd Week of the season...

3^rd Week of the season and had a difficult proposition for United against Wigan; after they getting a hard fought defeat against Burney there where various points to prove for United. As Sir Alex went with the most attacking option available for him with Scholes and Fletcher in the Midfield to take care; it was a great boost for United with Vidic back in the central defense with Rio out for some time with an injury.

The game started very brightly for united with united creating the most chance but the failing to convert them into any goals…first half just went into 0-0 score line and then… the team should have got a "Ferguson hairdryer" from SIR Alex. Which resulted into more aggressive and swift passing which resulted into the 1^st goal for Rooney 100^th career goal in united colors (hope for many more from him with United) then there was a individual brilliance from Berbatov where he took the ball away from Kirkland to get the united 2^nd and his first for the campaign… then it was total domination as Rooney had his 2^nd for the game (101^st for career) a wicked deflection which kept Kirkland (Wigan goal keeper stranded)… there where changes made as Rooney gave place to Owen who was still looking for his first for the campaign, then combining well with Nani on left side scored a really striker goal to prove point to his detractors…

Then at the very end united got a 25-yard free kick which was curled over the wall and past the motionless Kirkland by Nani…which completed the demolition of Wigan…

With that week ending as Chelsea and Arsenal, Hotspur and city all registering wins to keep them top with a shocking result of the week in which Burney again had a upset win over Everton (which took them to bottom of the table) and then the late fixture involving Liverpool and Aston Villa which saw Liverpool training behind 2-0, then Torres scoring but then Gerrard going for a tackle which was mistimed and for Liverpool misery villa got a penalty which was smart converted by Young. With Liverpool losing 2 games (Last season they just lost 2 games).

Overall a great week for united the getting back to their best not yet but still on the verge of it as the next game is a arch rival game with Arsenal (Scored 10 goal in two games); they in full flow it would be a really open game to watch on.
